On the 15th July 1980 Fodens Motor Works called in the receivers, Fodens were “broke”.
Receivers Sir Kenneth Cork and Philip Livesey were charged with running the company and were happy to continue with the band playing its part in promoting the company.
On the 10th October 1980 Foden Motor Works ceased to exist and all the band members were officially made redundant. A letter was sent to employees of the company saying that 'Paccar' had officially taken over the company
