On the 23 April 1913 Foden's performed to King George V and Queen Mary by Royal Command. In 1912 new uniforms were purchased in a 'Prussian Style' from the “Uniform and Equipment Company of Clerkenwell Green, London” and worn for this performance.
The King and Queen stayed at Crewe Hall the residential home of the Marquis of Crewe with the band travelling by Steam Wagon to perform at 9.30am.
