1950 Foden's come conquering home

On the 28th October 1950 Foden's became the National Champions held at the Royal Albert Hall winning £210/-/-

Test Piece was “Pageantry” by Herbert Howells.

Adjudicators were Frank Wright, Herbert Bennett, Herbert Howells

1st) Fodens Motor Works (Harry Mortimer) (drawn 15th)

2nd) Hanwell (drawn 13th)

3rd) Ransome and Marles (drawn 7th)          

At the results ceremony Harry insisted that his father Fred collected the prize as he had put so much effort into the rehearsals and it was down to his interpretation that the               band won.

Fodens marched through Sandbach and were greeted by a loud crown who had attended to celebrate their victory
